Biography
Luca Veni is a classically trained violinist currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance at Kennesaw State University. He studies with Helen Hwaya Kim, Julie Coucheron, and Charae Krueger. During his time at KSU, Luca has served as Concertmaster of the KSU Symphony Orchestra for multiple cycles, and his chamber ensemble has been featured in numerous performances across campus and the surrounding community. As an accomplished soloist and chamber musician, Luca has performed at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and was awarded First Prize in the Charleston International Music Competition. Along with that, Luca was named a first prize winner in the NY Classical Debut Awards Competition and will perform in Weill Recital Hall again in July of 2026. He has been named a finalist in the 2025 KSU Concerto Competition and was awarded Second Prize in the 2026 International Schubert Competition in Vienna. His festival appearances include the New England Conservatory International Summer Institute, where he was named Concertmaster, Orvieto Musica, where He was selected for the inaugural String Spotlight Program, and the Atlanta Festival Academy. This summer, he will attend the highly prestigious Round Top Festival in Texas for six weeks on a full-ride scholarship. In addition to his work at KSU, Luca serves as Assistant Concertmaster of the Georgia Philharmonic under the direction of Tamara Dworetz. His chamber accomplishments include winning the School Prize at the Franklin Pond Chamber Music Competition as a member of the Tempest Trio, following intensive coaching with the Vega Quartet through The Emory Youth Chamber Music Program. Luca has also performed in masterclasses with distinguished artists including Soovin Kim, the Kronos Quartet, and the Harlem Quartet to name a few. Prior to his collegiate studies, He was an active participant in Georgia’s All-State Orchestras, earning placement six times, and performed with ensembles such as the Emory Youth Symphony Orchestra, Gwinnett County Youth Symphony, and the Atlanta Festival Academy.
